Motor installation
LS-J Series

| A. The motor must be installed using the three primary mounting points, and all three must be used. B. Customers can decide whether to use auxiliary mounting points based on their specific frame configuration. |
LS-F Series
The Light Bee can be installed directly, and the original pulley can be used. We recommend replacing the large sprocket with a 58T sprocket to further enhance power.

| A. First, thread the bolts through the frame and sleeves, then into the upper fastening threaded holes. Then, use the same method to thread the bolts into the lower fastening threaded holes. Note: Due to slight variations in vehicle body dimensions, to improve tightening and sealing, it is recommended to use sleeves or washers to ensure a tight fit between the motor assembly mounting surface and the frame mounting surface before tightening the bolts. B. Finally, tighten the upper and lower fastening bolts; connect the three-phase and low-voltage cables. |
BF-40F
This model can be installed directly on the JIBEI model, using our dedicated pulleys and carbon fiber belt for even greater power. Alternatively, you can use the original JIBEI pulleys and belt. We recommend upgrading the large sprocket to a 58T for even greater power.

Electronic control matching
LS-J Series | LS-F Series | BF-40F
The motor speed sensor is a magnetic encoder with an operating voltage of 5-12V; the temperature sensor is a KTY84-130.
If the electronic control can set the reluctance torque angle, a setting of 25 degrees is recommended.
Electronic | The LS-30J is recommended to be paired with a 72V1000A electronic control unit. | The LS-40F is recommended to be paired with a 72V1000A electronic control unit. | BF-40F is recommended to be matched with 72V1000A electronic control, and XZS (Moxin) and VTB electronic control are preferred. |
Maximum | LS-30J:450ADC、 | LS-40F:450ADC、 | BF-40F: 500ADC; |
If the battery discharge capacity is insufficient, the motor must be current-limited or power-limited according to the actual battery capacity to prevent accidents.
Motor | LS-J Series: Torque and power limits start at 140°C, and motor protection activates at 160°C. | LS-40F, LS-20F: Torque and power limits start at 160°C, and motor protection activates at 180°C. | BF40F: Torque and power limits start at 160°C, and motor protection activates at 180°C. |
Special note: If the temperature protection is not set, or the protection temperature is set higher than the recommended value, the motor will burn out and the manufacturer will not provide warranty!
Note: The temperature control and monitoring of our motor products are different from those in the industry. This product adopts the new energy vehicle drive motor monitoring method, which makes the collected temperature closer to the actual maximum temperature and can more effectively monitor and protect the motor performance, thus having the motor's strong anti-demagnetization ability and durability like a car.
Motor | For the LS-30J: | For the LS-40F: | At 600A, the vehicle can easily lift. |
If the motor current exceeds the recommended value, it may trigger the protection mechanism and even cause performance degradation or burnout.
Battery Compatibility
1. The minimum battery voltage requirement is 72V (21 strings).
For the LS-30J, LS-20J, LS-40F, LS-30F, and BF-40F, the maximum cannot exceed 144V (42 strings).
For the LS-10J and LS-10F, the maximum cannot exceed 96V.
72V to 96V is recommended. The higher the voltage, the greater the motor power.
2. Battery Peak Current Requirements:
LS-30J > 450A, LS-20J > 320A, LS-10J > 200A;
LS-40F > 450A, LS-20F > 320A, LS-10F > 200A;
BF-40F > 500A. If the battery peak current cannot be reached, power or current limits must be set via the electronic control.
Power limit estimation method: Power limit W = peak current A × battery voltage V (for example, if the battery rated voltage is 72V and the maximum discharge current is 350A, then the power limit W = 72×350 = 25200W).
Daily Motor Maintenance
1. The motor reducer is already filled with oil at the factory and does not require additional oiling. However, if you notice any transmission oil leaks, check the reducer oil level to ensure it is adequate. 2. The first maintenance for the motor is to replace the reducer oil after 10,000 km, and every 30,000 km thereafter. First, loosen the drain plug and allow the reducer oil to drain completely. Then, tighten the drain plug. Open the filler plug and use a syringe to inject 30ml of 6AT transmission oil into the reducer. Tighten the filler plug. Note: The reducer is a precision instrument requiring high cleanliness. When performing maintenance or replacing the reducer oil, be careful to prevent foreign matter from entering the reducer. |

Common Troubleshooting Tips
Serial Number | Common Faults and Symptoms | Troubleshooting Methods |
1 | The motor is not working. | 1. Check whether the three-phase motor wires are correctly connected to the electronic control. 2. Check whether the electronic control is outputting current. Use a current clamp to measure any of the three-phase wires to verify current flow. If no current is present, check the electronic control and battery. 3. Check whether the magnetic encoder wiring is secure and whether it is damaged or broken. Reseat the connector to ensure it is securely plugged in. Wrap the damaged area. 4. Check whether the pin assignments for the electronic control encoder and the motor pin assignments match. They must match one to one. 5. Internal motor fault: Measure the insulation resistance between the phase wires and the housing. If the resistance is <1MΩ, there is a short circuit inside the motor. Measure the resistance between any two phase wires. If the resistance is >10Ω, there is a short circuit in the motor. Return the motor to the factory for repair. |
2 | The vehicle is jerking noticeably. | 1. Check the motor's magnetic encoder connector for looseness or poor contact. Re-seat the connector to confirm. 2. Check for battery current or power output limitations. 3. Other vehicle sensors, such as throttle or brake signals, may be causing the problem. |
3 | The motor is limited or underpowered. | 1. Check whether the battery peak power and electronic control peak current match. The motor's required peak current is: LS-30J: 450 ADC, LS-20J: 320 ADC, LS-10J: 200 ADC; LS-40F: 450 ADC, LS-20F: 320 ADC, LS-10F: 200 ADC; BF-40F: 500 ADC. Replace the battery and electronic control to meet the power requirements. 2. Check whether the temperature signal cable of the motor or electronic control is functioning properly and properly connected. Reseat the motor's magnetic encoder wiring harness to ensure it is securely connected. 3. Check whether the electronic control's temperature sensor type is KTY84-130. If not, change it to KTY84-130. 4. Check whether the electronic control motor temperature protection settings are correct. The settings are: LS-J series, LS-F series: 140°C limit torque and power, 160°C motor protection. BF-40F: 160℃ limiting torque and power, 180℃ motor protection. |
4 | The motor is reversed. | Check that the three-phase cables are connected correctly. Depending on the controller, you can also adjust the A/B phase sequence to reverse the motor's direction. |
5 | The reducer is making unusual or loud noises. | Check if the reducer is low on oil. |
