D21A/D18A Series Ceramic Capacitive Pressure Sensor Core

The D21A/D18A Series Ceramic Capacitive Pressure Sensor core is made of ceramic capacitive pressure-sensitive element which is based on alumina ceramic (Al2O3) as the primary material. Structurally, it consists of a thicker ceramic substrate, a thinner deformable ceramic elastic membrane, and metal electrodes printed on the ceramic. The working principle is that when the ceramic membrane undergoes deformation due to pressure, it causes a change in capacitance. This capacitance change is then processed by a signal processor to convert the pressure signal into a linear analog voltage signal or digital output.

As a major technology route in pressure sensors, ceramic capacitive pressure-sensitive elements offer many advantages, including resistance to corrosion, wear, and impact, minimal temperature drift, high measurement accuracy, wide range, pollution-free operation, high elasticity, overload resistance, and long lifespan. These elements can directly contact most corrosive gases or liquid media. During the operation of the ceramic capacitive pressure sensor, there is no fluid transmission, and the process pressure acts directly on the ceramic membrane. If overloaded, the membrane will touch the substrate without damage, and when the pressure returns to normal, its performance remains unaffected. Therefore, these sensors are widely used in automotive, industrial, and IoT applications.
