Watch: Kung Fu-Skilled T800 Humanoid Steps Closer to Mass Production

The name "T800" often evokes images of the Terminator and Skynet, but this eponymous robot is a near-mass-produced industrial-grade humanoid robot backed by a billion-yuan funding round, breaking the traditional Hollywood sci-fi mold.

With the slogan "Born to Disrupt," the robot has demonstrated exceptional mobility in public demonstrations, easily performing aerial kicks, martial arts movements, and even sparring with humans. The fluidity of its motions was so impressive that developers released behind-the-scenes footage to address speculation that the videos had been digitally enhanced. In one demonstration, a company executive even appeared on camera as the robot delivered a powerful kick, highlighting confidence in the machine's capabilities.



The T800 stands 1.73 meters tall and weighs 75 kilograms, including its battery. Built with an aerospace-grade magnesium-aluminum alloy structure, it combines durability with lightweight construction. Featuring 29 degrees of freedom throughout its body and joints capable of delivering up to 450 Nm of torque, its mobility rivals—and in some cases surpasses—that of human athletes. Each hand provides 7 degrees of freedom, bringing the total to 43 degrees of freedom and allowing it to grasp objects weighing up to 5 kilograms. An active cooling system integrated into the legs supports prolonged high-intensity operation, while a modular solid-state battery enables up to four hours of continuous use and can be quickly replaced or upgraded.

For perception and computing, the T800 utilizes a 360-degree LiDAR system capable of processing environmental information within milliseconds, enabling autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance. Powered by an Intel N97 CPU and an NVIDIA AGX Orin module, the robot delivers up to 275 TOPS of AI computing performance, providing the processing power required for complex industrial tasks.


At present, the T800 has not demonstrated highly dexterous tasks such as folding towels. In the near term, it is expected to focus on industrial applications, performing repetitive tasks such as component assembly on production lines. Although it faces competition from other advanced humanoid robots already being tested in automotive and manufacturing environments, the T800 may gain an advantage through its readiness for large-scale production. Mass production is expected to begin soon, with the first commercial deliveries anticipated by mid-2026.


The substantial financing secured for the project reflects growing market confidence in industrial-grade humanoid robots and their potential role in future manufacturing environments.
