Summary:At CES 2026, Hyundai Motor Group’s MobED mobile platform robot earned the Best of Innovation award for its advanced all-terrain mobility, AI-powered autonomous navigation, and versatile design, highlighting the growing role of intelligent robotics in logistics, security, and industrial automation.
LAS VEGAS — Hyundai Motor Group captured attention at CES 2026 after its MobED mobile platform robot received the event’s prestigious Best of Innovation award in the robotics category, recognizing breakthroughs in autonomous mobility and intelligent robotic systems.

Developed by Hyundai Motor Group’s Robotics LAB, MobED is designed to operate in environments where traditional mobile robots often struggle. The platform features a rectangular chassis supported by four independently controlled wheels, enabling stable movement across uneven terrain, obstacles, slopes, and other challenging environments. This unique mobility architecture allows the robot to maintain balance while transporting equipment, sensors, cameras, or cargo.
The production-ready platform is available in two versions: MobED Basic, designed as a flexible robotic mobility platform, and MobED Pro, which incorporates AI-driven autonomous navigation technologies. The Pro model combines advanced LiDAR sensors, camera systems, and intelligent perception algorithms to support real-time environmental mapping, obstacle avoidance, and autonomous route planning in both indoor and outdoor settings.
MobED can reach speeds of up to 10 km/h and operate for more than four hours on a single battery charge. Depending on the configuration, the robot can carry payloads of up to 57 kilograms, making it suitable for logistics transportation, security patrols, industrial inspection, autonomous filming, smart guidance services, and future mobility applications.
