Tutorial: Building a Robotic Hand from Scratch
This video documents the complete creation process of a robotic hand. The project, spanning several weeks, aimed to develop a compact and precisely controllable bionic robotic hand, overcoming numerous assembly and technical challenges along the way.
To achieve miniaturization, the project avoided using pre-made servo motors, instead creating a custom-designed controllable drive structure using a combination of motors, potentiometers, and motor drivers. The manufacturing phase focused on resolving issues such as welding assembly and component compatibility, including the re-procurement of parts and optimization of the design.
Ultimately, using Python and the pyFirmata library, precise control of the robotic hand via computer buttons was achieved, enabling basic operational functions. The video comprehensively presents the entire process from design and component assembly to program debugging. If you're interested, take a look.
